Oxford Boutique Owner Opens New Store with New Focus

Oooh La La owner, Charlotte Winthrow, plans to open another boutique on the Oxford downtown square. She hopes to have it open when students return from spring break.

This store will be named “Wear Me Out” and Winthrow says it will feature the latest in fashion trends for the college-aged woman. That’s a customer she has targeted in her other stores.

Winthrow has one Oooh La La Boutique in Oxford and another in Starkville; both feature jewelry. The veteran business owner has reason to think her new store will be a success.

“Girls can go without jewelry, but they can’t go without clothes,” Winthrow said.

Winthrow says Oooh La La has been successful because there aren’t many stores like it on the Square. The new store will have a lot more competition.

Clothing stores on the Square include: Indigos, Le Shea’s, Miss Behavin’ and Village Tailor. The Yellow Book Pages online lists sixteen different women’s clothing stores in the Oxford area.
