Ole Miss Football Team’s Rocky Start

After the Ole Miss Rebel’s rocky start, many became nervous about the outcome of the season. Being ranked number 4 added pressure going into the South Carolina game. While many fans are excited about the Rebel’s high ranking, the players have mixed emotions.

“It was a different but good feeling at the time. aone thing I didn’t like was having all the attention and the focus on our team. I feel like it was taking away the drive,” said Ole Miss kicker Joshua Shene.

Last year’s Cotton Bowl win created high expectations for the team, but added pressure on them as well.

“I feel like a lot of times when you have all that attention, you worry more about being in the spotlight and having people talk about you all the time versus just going out there and playing footbal,” Shene said.

Shene thinks that the pressure could be a reason for the loss to South Carolina but that there are plenty of games left on the schedule to make up for it.
